Waimanalo Beach, Oahu

Although we live in  the wedding capital of the U.S...Las Vegas, there was never any question we'd get married in Hawaii. Being that CJ is from Oahu, and most of our guests live there, it was a no-brainer. Plus, neither of us are very "Vegas"...we have always agreed that a casual beach-themed wedding was in our future....no Elvis and casino weddings here!

Our first location choice was Lanikai Beach, however, since we decided that we wanted to get married on a private property (backyard overlooking the ocean), we were thinking that Waimanalo was a lot easier and equally as beautiful. With the new law enacted in the state of Hawaii back in August of 2008 requiring permits for all beach weddings...things got more complicated than we thought, so I decided...let's just have it at a rental home...don't wanna deal with the hassle! ;)

some pics I took of the beach...

it was cold and windy that day, but still so gorgeous! Bottom pics are of the backyard where the ceremony will be.

Waimanalo Beach House

This is the house in Waimanalo we have our eyes on...it's just our taste: casual, unfussy, and by the beach!
I spoke to the rep and she allows ceremonies on the property, and as a matter of fact, she got married there herself. We are so excited to see the home for ourselves. We plan on staying there with my parents, my brother and some other guests...
